It Was a Beautiful Day in the Neighborhood

Yesterday was such a stunning day in Lake Placid I almost felt sad summer is over.  The sun was warm; 80 degrees when we left HQ for an afternoon hike.  There was not a cloud in the Adirondack blue sky, the fall colors were popping, and the bugs weren’t biting. These are the days for hiking and trail running in the Adirondacks.

One of the last days of summer 2013 in the Adirondacks and it was a dandy.

What a difference a day makes. The clouds blew in this morning and fall’s formerly blue background is gray.

This morning’s background palette changes the whole look.
