Happy First Day of Spring and Happy New Year!

Zeigfreid the dog

Welcome to Adirondack Lifestyle!

Happy first day of spring 2011! I follow the astrological calendar and also consider this very special day the first day of the year.  I love this time of year.

I know many people who live in the Adirondacks are whining right now because it snowed today,  this arbitrarily assigned day when they think it is supposed to be sunny. If one pays the least bit of attention one knows March 21 in the Adirondacks is not spring.  I skied today and was happy to be outside.  Despite the snow however,  change and movement is in the air this time of year in the Adirondacks. Water is moving; the river is rushing with melted snow.  I know summer is just around the corner on the other side of all that mud.

Because some readers might be bummed out about the snow,  this seems like an appropriate time to  play the puppy card and dispense with a lead ‘snow on the first day of Spring!’ photo.

In honor of all things new and exciting, I’d like you to meet the newest addition to Adirondack Lifestyle /JSR Associates headquarters, Zeigfreid, who will be known as Ziggy.  Ziggy is an 11-week-old black lab pup who we adopted two weeks ago.  His job description includes blog star, reminding me to get out for trail runs, swims, and x-c skis, and providing  feedback for all my business ideas.

I’ll also welcome you to my new home on the web at adirondacklifestyleblog.com.  Many thanks to my favorite rocket scientist for all his help, without which this switch would not have occurred.   Today seems like a great day to launch a new blog site.

Happy New Year and thank you for reading about the Adirondack Lifestyle.

I couldn’t totally dispense with the first day of spring snow photo. For those of you unhappy about the snow, I hope the puppy helps.
