It took a day or two, but Summer has finally arrived in the Adirondacks. I woke this morning to brilliant sunshine warming an Adirondack blue sky. The air and landscape seem extra crisp and clean; after 40 days and nights of rain, why wouldn’t they be sparkling!? Since I like to present a realistic and clear idea of what this Adirondack Lifestyle is about, I can honestly say the rainy weather was getting on my nerves. Although I am one of the biggest and most die-hard Pollyannas, I was beginning to have a tough time finding the silver lining in all those gray clouds. Well, today just proves that good things come to those who wait! So, patience is a virtue, and all those tedious but true adages on the topic of there is a time for everything and everything in its time, might apply in this instance. The rainy weather is responsible for a real blessing of course; the beautiful and fragrant flowers and lush foliage for which the Adirondacks are so famous. Today is also the first day of the Lake Placid Horse Shows and the Lake Placid Horse Show Grounds looked stupendous on the drive by this morning. Clearly, I am still afflicted with a candy addiction, although at least this one will not ruin my fitness efforts! Today’s photo features lovely Mirror Lake and Whiteface Mountain taken from the Lake Placid Village Park adjacent to 1 Main Street.
