Happy May Day!

Welcome to the merry, merry month of May in the Adirondacks! Today’s photo really was taken this morning on the deck at the homestead. Although not unheard of, this morning’s snow is a little unusual, even for the North Country. It seems like it was just last week when I was riding my road bike in 80 degree temperatures….oh wait, it was. As much as I love the snow, I really am ready for sunshine and hot, road-biking, swimming weather. The good news is the ice is out on all the Adirondack lakes and the roads have been cleaned. So, everything is all set for my current preferences, I just hope they don’t have to sand the roads today!
On the real estate end, our market is picking up. Warm weather in the rest of the civilized world has people thinking about playing outside and pursuing leisure activities in the Adirondacks, and that means buying property and homes from which to base those pursuits.
By the way, I’ve learned if you click on the photos in this blog, you can see an enlarged version of the image. In today’s photo for example, you will be able to see those poor little lilac buds trying to survive the snow so they can bloom in a few weeks!
