It is time for an update on the status of Adirondack ski conditions. This will come as no surprise to regular readers of this blog. These Adirondack ski reports are mandated public service announcements (PSAs) that fulfill the appropriate ratio of commercials about my business broker and real estate business to information for the public good. Whiteface is still in great condition - thank goodness for all that early snow. This is hard and fast, ski-racer kind of weather, so sharp edges are a good idea. One of these blogs, I’ll expound on how much fun it was to be a ski-racer-parent. It was a blast.
Mount Van Hoevenberg is in very nice shape. Here is another tip of the tuque to the folks working there. They’ve done a great job keeping the entire system open and in top-notch condition, even through the recent weather challenges. There is a Sunday fun race this afternoon; if you are a cross-country ski racer you might want to check it out. Skating would be the ideal way to go today. The back country is a little iffy right now. We’ve had some rain and then cold conditions, without any appreciable fresh snow. That adds up to breakable crust and I won’t struggle through that stuff. There is snow in the forecast, so it won’t be long for the woods to be great again. All said, skiing’s still great in New York State, especially in the Adirondacks!
